"Quadriceps Stretch"

The "Quadriceps Stretch"  is a stretching exercise whose purpose is to stretch the large front muscle of your upper legs, the quadriceps. The starting position is with your right (or left) leg behind your back and with the toe held in the opposite hand (i.e. "left leg in the right hand;"  "right leg in the left hand").  Be sure not to use the hand on the same side as the leg being stretched.  This prevents you from bending the knee to outside where damage may occur.  The stretch is accomplished by pulling up on the toe of the leg lightly, but firmly.  This stretch should be held for at least 5 seconds. Repeat with the other leg.
