Mayor's OlympiKids for Fitness
At this Web site teachers and parents can register students with the United States Olympic Committee which will allow them to keep track of their fitness participation. According to the Web site the program "provides educators a tool to assist in increasing kids' awareness, interest and participation in cardiovascular activities. The ultimate goal is to assist children in developing healthier bodies and daily practices that will affect their personal lives." They stress that this is a non-competitive program and most looked like it was but we question several of the games and activities they have chosen as "relays" are not developmentally appropriate. They do provide all of the forms necessary for kids to track their physical activity time.
